Yue Li

Yue Li is a PhD candidate at the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University. Her research focuses on the social exposome and its implications for population health. She studies how the structure and composition of individuals’ social environments are associated with health and mortality, using population-scale social network data, linked with administrative and health data. Her background is in social psychology, with expertise in social relationships, quantitative methods, and longitudinal data analysis.

Within Exposome-NL, Yue investigates the role of social networks as an important component of the social exposome. Her PhD project uses population-scale, multiplex social network data covering family, household, neighborhood, school, and workplace relationships in the Netherlands. Her work aims to understand how different dimensions of social connections and network structures relate to health and mortality, and to identify potential pathways linking social environments to population health.

I hope to better understand how our social environments shape health and contribute to healthier lives.
