Laurens is a PhD student at the Metabolomics & Analytics Center, which is a research institution that is part of the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research and Leiden University. His work focuses on the analysis of small molecules in plasma samples.

His role in Exposome-NL is to develop, optimize, and apply an analytical workflow to analyze the chemical exposome in plasma samples. This could enhance our understanding of how the exposome influences our health.
