Exposome-related data created and inventoried as part of the Exposome-NL and EXPANSE projects is available for use in further research. You can explore and visualize data for your European region of interest on our Exposome Maps platform.
The platform contain geospatial data on environmental exposures (Exposome Surfaces), categorized into the following Exposome dimensions.
Built Environment exposures including:
Food Environment exposures including:
Physico-Chemical Environment exposures including:
For each Exposome Surface we provide metadata including: time period, temporal resolution, spatial resolution, geographical coverage, and the units in which exposure data is expressed. We also provide a reference to the original source of the data.
The complete list of Exposome Surfaces and their metadata is also available as a table.
You can request access to the Surfaces you need by completing the request form.

The environment we live in has a dominant impact on our health. It explains an estimated seventy percent of the chronic disease burden. Where we live, what we eat, how much we exercise, the air we breathe and whom we associate with; all of these environmental factors play a role. The combination of these factors over the life course is called the exposome. There is general (scientific) consensus that understanding more about the exposome will help explain the current burden of disease and that it provides entry points for prevention and ...
